Celebrating 30 Years of Change and Growth as We Look to the Future 🎉

As tng celebrates 30 years of governance excellence, we’re excited to announce key leadership changes that will shape our future and ensure we continue providing the expertise and personalized support our clients have come to expect.

▶️ Welcome to Our New COO, Mary Swaffield

We’re thrilled to introduce Mary Swaffield, CSEP, CAE, as our new Chief Operating Officer and Governance Advisor. With over 15 years of transformative leadership experience, Mary has a proven ability to drive organizational growth and financial sustainability. Her strategic vision and hands-on expertise will be critical as we look to the future. Alongside Brad Quinn, tng’s Founder & CEO, Mary will help guide tng into its next chapter, ensuring our governance and strategy tools remain effective and relevant. Mary’s approachable style fits seamlessly with our commitment to meeting each client’s unique needs.

▶️ Welcoming Mary Van Buren, Governance Advisor

Earlier this year, we were excited to welcome Mary Van Buren to our team as a Governance Advisor. A seasoned leader with an impressive background, Mary’s leadership experience, including her time at the Canadian Construction Association, is enhancing our approach and bringing fresh perspectives to our work in new professional fields. Her extensive knowledge of not-for-profit governance elevates our services, and with her bilingual abilities, we are better positioned to support clients across Canada. We’re thrilled to have her on board as we expand into new professional fields.

▶️ A Heartfelt Goodbye to Gary Simonsen

After many years of dedicated service, we bid farewell to Gary Simonsen, our Vice President. Gary joined tng during a pivotal time and played a critical role in helping us sharpen our focus on governance, grow our client base, and refine our tools. Gary has been an invaluable leader known for his wise, patient, and supportive approach. While stepping back from day-to-day consulting, Gary will remain a trusted strategic advisor and close friend to the team. We’re incredibly grateful for his contributions and wish him all the best as he embraces new personal pursuits.

As we celebrate our 30th year in business, we’re energized by what’s ahead. With these leadership changes, tng is poised to continue providing the governance and leadership expertise our clients rely on. Please join us in welcoming Mary Swaffield and Mary Van Buren, and in celebrating the legacy of Gary Simonsen!
